GIVE PANTHERS A BRAKE

With fewer than 160 Florida panthers left in the wild, this iconic species is one of the most endangered mammals on earth. Florida panthers once prowled and flourished in America’s southeastern woodlands and swamps, but rapid development is devouring panther habitat and frequent car collisions are taking precious panther lives. Sadly, today the panther is restricted to less than five percent of its original range in south Florida.

Defenders of Wildlife has a plan to help save the Florida panther:

Inspire Floridians to protect their panther through advertising and outreach campaigns like “Give panthers a brake!”
Improve safe passage for panthers across roads.
Secure more panther habitat, allowing them to expand their natural range and thrive.
Work with Florida land owners to encourage responsible coexistence with panthers.

But we can’t do this alone – we need your help to make it safer for panthers to roam freely across the landscape and bring them back from the brink.
